All fees are in AUD, inclusive of GST and applicable if you are participating in person or online.

Reimbursements

Some universities reimburse students their Summer School registration fee. Contact your masters/honours coordinator or Head of Department to see if you are eligible for a reimbursement.

Refunds

Applicants who wish to withdraw their application must contact coordinator_rhed@amsi.org.au.

Refunds of the School fee will be provided for withdrawals received up until 27 October 2024.

Who can access AMSI Member rates?

  • Staff currently employed at AMSI Member institutions
  • Students currently enrolled at AMSI Member institutions
  • Retirees who have a current AustMS membership

Application Process

STEP 1

Application Form

Please follow the Apply Now link below to complete the AMSI Summer School Application Form.

  • Takes approx. 5-10 minutes to complete
  • Requires applicants to
    • nominate subject preferences
    • indicate participation mode (in-person or online)
      Note: applicants are strongly encouraged to attend in person at The University of Sydney to maximise their summer school experience. While virtual participation is available, some online functions may be limited. There may also be some elements that are not available remotely. AMSI and USyd will endeavour to provide the best experience possible for virtual participants.
    • supply contact details of an honours/postgraduate coordinator and/or Head of School who can confirm their suitability for Summer School and discuss their academic record if needed.
  • Students applying for a grant will be required to:
    • upload a letter of support from their supervisor/course coordinator/Head of School. The letter should include a statement supporting your request for financial assistance and what funding is being provided by your home university. It need only be brief (100-200 words) and submitted on university letterhead or contain your supervisor’s formal email signature.
    • supply an academic transcript

STEP 2

Payment

Upon submission of the application form, you will be redirected to the USyd payment gateway to pay your application fee using a credit or debit card. School fees are a flat rate whether choosing to study one or two subjects.

Note: Applications will not be considered until both steps have been completed. If you application is unsuccessful a full refund of the Application Fees will be provided.

STEP 3

Acceptance

Acceptance into AMSI Summer School are at the discretion of the Event Directors. Applicants will be notified via email the outcome of their application within two weeks of applications closing.

Successful applicants must confirm their acceptance of an offer, following the instructions provided in the notification email by the due date.

Are you eligible for an AMSI Summer School Grant?

AMSI travel grants are available to assist students from AMSI Member Institutions with the cost of travel/accommodation to attend the school. Female, First Nations and regional, rural and remote students are encouraged to apply.
