AMSI Summer School 2017 is hosted by the University of Sydney at the Camperdown/Darlington Campus, which is located in the central city location of Camperdown, Sydney. This is the University of Sydney’s main and biggest campus (72 hectares) with state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, including six libraries, art galleries, historical museums, perfectly manicured grounds, and the various faculties and schools.
This main campus is well served by multiple public transport options. The closest transport hubs are listed below:
- Closest Airport: Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport
- Closest Train Stations: Redfern Station (10 min walk) or Central Station (15 min walk)
- Closest Bus Stops: Parramatta Road & City Road

Accommodation for students who are successful with their grant application to attend the AMSI Summer School in 2017 will be located at Sancta Sophia College, which is a residential college situated in the grounds of the University of Sydney.
Students who do not apply for a grant or are unsuccessful with their grant application (self-funding students) can contact the AMSI Summer School Director to discuss accommodation options at the Sancta Sophia College. AMSI and the University of Sydney make every effort to ensure that costs associated with student accommodation for self-funded students are kept to a minimum amount.
Please note: Accommodation for local Sydney students is not supplied, though they are still welcome to attend the social events during the AMSI Summer School. See under Program Extras.
