SUMMER SCHOOL 2015

Celebrating it’s 50th year, the University of Newcastle was proud to host the AMSI Summer School for the first time in 2015. 107 students from across Australia attended the 13th annual vacation residential school from the 5th to the 29th January, each taking one or two of the eight Honours-level courses on offer.

Students were taught by some of the best researchers and lecturers of mathematics in Australia, offering a range of courses in both pure and applied mathematics, statistics, as well as control theory and statistical mechanics. These intensive courses were supplemented by a series of lunchtime lectures, social events, a careers afternoon, a CV workshop, and a public lecture.

AMSI Summer School 2015 was funded jointly by the Department of Education and the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, and supported by the University of Newcastle, AustMS, and ANZIAM.
