To complete your application, students will need to nominate course choice preferences and supply the contact details of a Honours or Postgraduate Coordinator and/or Head of School (this must be someone who we can contact to confirm the students suitability for the AMSI Summer School, and discuss their academic record if needed).
Please note: All students and/or university staff must complete the application process and pay the applicable fee to participate in the program (including attending lectures) even if there is no intention to take the course for credit.
Once you complete the application form you will be redirected to the University of Sydney’s payment page. Your application will not be completed until payment has been made. If your application is unsuccessful, a refund will be provided.
Choosing your Course/s
Information about each course, including a synopsis, overview, prerequisites, assessment and resources, as well as a short lecturer biography is available under Courses & Lecturers.
Students may enrol in a maximum of two courses. Every effort will be made to accommodate your choice. Where necessary, preference will be given a “first come, first served” basis. The final decision on course placements is at the discretion of the AMSI Summer School organisers.
You will need to indicate your course choices in your application, but you can decide at a later date if you would like to take a course for credit. If you take a course for assessment, you will need approval from your home university.
Please Note: We do not recommend taking more than one course for assessment.
Reimbursement & Refunds
Some departments reimburse students their Summer School registration fee. You should contact your masters/honours coordinator or Head of Department to see if you are entitled to a reimbursement.
Registrants who wish to withdraw their Summer School application and obtain a refund of the registration fee must apply to do so by 1 December 2016 by contacting the AMSI Summer School Director.
AMSI Summer School 2017 offers two types of Grants to assist students from Member Institutions to attend the program. Please visit our Grants page for more details and eligibility criteria.
